2004 S60 Headlight lens replacement

Is it true you HAVE to take the bumber off to get to the headlight lenses for replacement for this car?

I've been searching for a tutorial on changing out the headlight lens and the closest thing I could find was an '01 S80 which you have to take the bumper off. sigh.

Yes, take the bumper fascia off. I did it on V70 and Not that hard at all but: remember where the wipers park on the headlight; put a clip on the washer hoses so they don't snake back ; do it on a warm day as the plastic will have more give--it was 20 degrees when I did it and had to take the bumper in the house overnight.

I used a heat gun (hair dryer does not work) to take the lens cement off and it was slow work. I see in that forum he put it in the oven @ 200 degrees. Wish I had thought of that.

Have some extra plastic pop rivits for the fascia as Volvo plastic does not age well and you will probably break one or two or 8.

Is the lens scummy? I hear some very high grit sandpaper can clear it up...though I've never tried it myself.
