Hello I am selling my 1996 Volvo 850 NA. This car has 138,XXX miles on it. The exterior is in excellent condition. There is a small scrape on the front passenger side where somebody brushed me in a parking lot. There is also a bubble on the back bumper from where the previous owner hit something, Other than that the exterior is in perfect shape with no rust or pitting. There are two dings on the drivers side but you can't really see them unless its raining The paint is solid with no fading and a good clear coat. The front two tires are about 80 percent. The rear tires should probably be replaced before winter, but that is your choice.
The engine is a well running 2.4L inline 5 cylinder. This car runs excellent and has never given me any problems. It accelerates great and has lots of power. It does take about 3 or 4 seconds for the car to start. I took it to the mechanic to have this issue looked at and after two hours he said he could not find the issue. He tested the starter, fuel pump and fuel injectors and said everything was just fine and to keep using the car the way it is. The car has been like this for over 2 years and has never once failed to start. I just put a new battery in in January. Oil was just changed last week and has been changed every 3-4 thousand miles. This car was taken to the Volvo dealer every 5000 miles up to100 k and has had all the recommended maintenance done according to the manual and has the stamps from the dealer showing it was done. This car runs excellent and I see it going another 100k easily. Most of the Volvos I see easily make 250k.
The interior is in flawless condition. The upholstery is like brand new with zero signs of wear and absolutely no stains. Car is smoke free! The seats are cloth and heated, however the drivers side one stopped working at the end of winter. I looked this issue up online and was told that it is most likely a wire that came loose from moving the seat around. I never looked further into is since the weather got warmer. Everything works as it should except the AC. It needs to be recharged. It costs about $20 to buy the kit to recharge the AC. It has a nice Alpine CD player installed with usb and aux inputs. This car has a decent set of speakers in it that produces a pretty good sound, Has all the airbags including the side ones, one of the first cars to include these. I am almost certain this is the cleanest interior that you can find in an 850.
This is an excellent daily car or college car. It is well running extremely solid and safe. I just bought another car and can't afford to have this one. Would like to get $2250 for this but will gladly take offers. NEED to get this car sold by Sunday so make me some offers!
