95 850 ABS malfunctions

I have been having troubles with my anti lock brakes. I have taken them out and cleaned but no improvement. I understand if I just disconnect them I will no longer have a speedometer???

First off, read the fault codes and see what the problem is. Fix the problem don't just disconnect the ABS. Repair the problem don't hack the car. There are many write ups in the repair section of the board. Let us know what the codes are we can help. Best of luck

On a '95 you won't lose the speedometer. Yank the codes from A-3 and post them back.

The early model ABS systems can fail but it is rare. The good thing about that is that you can buy the whole system cheap on ebay since there is so little demand.

111 means no code, light on? Have you drove a bit after reset?
This is from service manual:
"When ignition is turned on, control module activates warning
indicators on instrument panel and performs an initial diagnostic test
which ensures there are no internal faults in control module. At same
time, main relay portion of combination relay is activated so
hydraulic modulator valves are supplied with power. See Fig. 1.
Control module then checks operation of valves by activating them in
sequence.
If no fault is detected, warning indicators go out about 2
seconds after engine is started. When vehicle is driven, control
module checks that it is receiving signals from wheel sensors. At 20
MPH, it checks that hydraulic pump is operating by activating pump
relay so pump is started. This is confirmed by a signal from rotation
sensor. In addition to the initial diagnostic tests, control module
continuously checks that all signals and components are operating, and
there are no internal faults in control module."

just too it for a quick spin. abs went off checked codes still 111

it only happens occasionally. abs goes on by itself
