Oops I did it again - and I need ideas.

There HAVE to be limits...Perhaps they are built right into the motor, but they have to be there...If there were no limits and one did not release the button when the window reached fulll open or full closed, power would continue to be consumed and one of several things would happen, the fuse would blow, the gears would strip, the linkage would bend, or the motor would burn out...

The limits might also be software based, but be assured, they are there...

With all due respect, they are not.
There are only two switches, an auto-reset circuit breaker
and a relay between this motor and the battery.

I had a drivers side front window with the same problem.
Motor is fine, but the plastic-cased gearbox is broken.
Now the issue is to find someone to replace it cheap.
I have the parts.

The monsoon stopped today but I was working out of town. I did get a panic call that they were trying to jump the car to get it to start. I put it on a charger when I got home - Lord knows what the left turned on while cleaning it out yesterday - and went to fire it up. I think my daughter tried multiple short attempts to start the car which is a really bad idea.

The sound of a white block with lawnmower syndrome is unmistakable, it is much like a Chevy 350 with a broken timing chain.

In the past I have dealt with LMS with the teaspoon of oil trick but I just floored it and kept cranking - it took a good 45 seconds to catch but it did catch and fire up. It now fires right up.

I an currently making up the parts list, someone is going to get one heck of an order.

Did you ever get your window to work? It really bites when it rains or when you have no choice but to take it to a dealer to get it fixed, due to time constraints and work issues. My rear passenger window on the driver's side decided not to work today. So I have to take to the dealer. Every mechanic screws up my car when I take it to them. It's wearing me out.

Let me know what happens with you window issue ...

I did get the window up but I took a battery charger and plugged it into the motor wires to get it done. The motor works fine and from what I have traced out the master switch is bad (no surprise). I work for myself and I tend to get projects finished on more or less a quarterly basis. I am expecting a check from my last big project and the next order (after the client pays) is to switchdoctors to replace the master switch. From there I need to start scaring up parts for the locks on the S70 so that she can lock the car.

whats this charger stuff?..use a 12v battery to power motor, i repaired my master switch by taking it apart, was just the contacts that need cleaning. use some emery or sand paper or daughters nail file and clean.All windows work great now the window switch is very complicated, window up window down window up window down. And no theres no limiting switch.
