Sway bar links and bushings 1996 960 wagon

Post by sasjzl »

Just got off the phone with my indy mechanic who said that the front and rear sway bar bushings and links need to be replaced. Called IPD and they say there are no third party makers of the above because these pieces would be only for the 1995-6 Volvo 960. Anyone have any ideas besides the salvage yard(s)? The sway bar linkage is what I am most concerned about as I assume that is a ball and socket joint that would be really hard to find in a salvage yard in a usable condition.

Any other 960 folks out there that have been in the same situation?

Thanks very much,
Jim Lee

Try FCP. They are listing the front sway bar link at $15.00.

I replaced all these on my '98 just a few weeks ago. They links were actually very easy to do. The rubber bushings were even easier. It eliminated all the front end klunking. Got them from FCP Groton.
