No warning lights

Post by pgregston »

Just replaced 92 960 radiator.Everything holding liquid. So all ok. Starts runs; not getting hot.
But when the key is on, either to start or just in ACC, none of the dashboard warning lights turn on, just when they should all be on. When started , the seat belt warning light comes on for a few seconds.
Tried the lights- fine. The radio wanted the code, as if it had been disconnected.
Any clues ?
Also checked fuse and noticed nothing in the slot for SRS, and no amperage specified on the chart. What should be there?

I had an ignition switch go south last year and I was getting all kinds of weird problems. When you have the key in the ACC position, if you wiggle the key around a bit, front and back, do any of your lights come on?

I'll see if I can't find the correct fuse rating for the SRS

+1 on checking the ignition switch.

If the 'fuse' in question is at position 5 in the box it doesn't have a fuse, that is the SRS test socket.

Thanks Bill.
Today the key turn produced all the lights functioning.
Three cycles of start drive and park were normal. Fourth start - no lights.
The speedo acts up when the lights are on, indicating 45mph when parked, but normal when driving. When the lights aren't on, it operates as expected.
Wondering where the ground is for the warning light panel or their controller.
Any pointers?

The instrument panel earth (ground) is behind the right side kick panel.
