A/C question- 850

So, I replaced the evaporator and accumulator about 4 weeks ago...great A/C....nice and cold. Today, however, it has lessened...not really cold. Of course, it was 90 degrees out, but I can tell it wasn't as cold.
How do I check the system? If it is full, I can't add any more or add leak detector, can I? I know how to add stuff, because I did so prior to the new evaporator...thinking that was the problem back then. Just concerned that I could 'over fill' the system. What do you suggest?

Did you vacuum the system and, did it hold vacuum for an hr or so after ?

My friend, who has a shop, did the actual fill-up after I did the 'muscle work'. I don't know what he did...he's usually very good about these things.

It is likely a clutch gap problem if your pressures are OK.
