Strange sound when car first turned "on"

Post by tj850GLT »

Hey, my 1996 850 GLT makes a strange noise when I first turn it to "on". I can hear it when the car it not running, and when it is running. Sounds like it is comming from under the hood, front passenger side. It's not the fan, it's a like a buzz, but it kinda speeds up, then stops after a while. But if I shut the car off, then turn it back on (even when the car is hot) it will make the noise again.

Any ideas??

thanks

Nevermind, I figured it out. The passenger side headlight wiper was stuck and making funky noises. I moved it a little and it wiped then stopped making the noise.

Was it past the bump stop? Good thing it didn't burn out the motor!
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link

Nope, I don't know why it was stuck, I barely even touched it and it did a quick wipe and quieted down. I'm not too worried about the headlight wipers anyways, I wouldn't even mind taking them out.
