will 18inch pegasus fit a 1998 V70?

Post by darylrobert »

After much searching the internet ,this is for anyone wanting to put 18inch wheels on their V70, it can be done.
Wheels are 18inch OEM Pegasus fitted with Pirelli 235/40/18 tyres and they rub a little at full lock. I have on order 225/40/18 Pirelli's so hopefully will fix that issue.

Fitted 225/40/18 tyres and it still rubs, less but still rubs front and back wheels. Will 5mm spacers fix the problem?.note also that ive got stock suspension, so the back wheels rubs lining when fast cornering....

Fitted 5mm spacers which fixed the front full lock rub but the back still rubs, so ive removed one of the lining mounts. Ive on order 10mm spacers for the back which should fix.

Hello darylrobert, I'm using 215x40 tires on my s70 T5. and i had the car lowered by HnR springs approx 1.2 inch lowering.
So far i don't experience any rubbing on my fender liners or whatsoever.

Here are some pics :D

no rubbing even at full turning radius..i fabricated 6mm aluminum T6 spacers at the rear. It gave the car a better stance and even without the spacers theres no rubbing at the back.

thanks oakztiO2
will consider buying 215/40 next time, but our roads in Australia are pretty bad you must be really carefull to not damage your rims with low profile tryes.

i think the 17inch rims are better suited to these old cars.
