URO is very bad. :-/ There is a thread here discussing whether URO control arms are worth it or not and the general consenses is that they aren't. I hope they work out for you but don't be too surprised if they fail within the next year. :-( Sorry to be a downer.

URO is pure garbage, return them ASAP.
For suspension parts, OEM Volvo (which is Lemforder) ONLY.

I also wrote a REAR Shock/Mount in another DIY, search for it.

After all the things I've ever done on my cars any suspension work has always intimidated me. This is an excellent writeup and my car is long overdo for a front suspension refresh. Thank you!

I already mentioned this link in the very 1st thread. It is part of this write-up.

Just thought I would give my list of locally bought products for me 2001 V70xc as a reference.
Auto Zone or Pep Boys
Monroe Sensa-Trac Strut $80.00 (71485)
Monroe Strut Mounting Plate $65.99 (904903) *** In their system it says this part does not match. Check with Monroe directly.
CarQuest
Strut Bumper Stop $10.42 (WPC L3036298581RIN)
Strut Mount Bushing $26.82 (WPC L3031104479SAC)

Total: $183.00 a wheel.

My only other note is on the The Sway Bar End link the 2001 does not have a flat end to use a 16mm bike wrench but the bolt has a hole that you can hold and or turn with an allen wrench or bit.

Just a note, the Monroes are a downgrade from your OEM set up.

"Just a note, the Monroes are a downgrade from your OEM set up."

Absolutely true however the original struts were on the car and the car has 170K miles on it so I am going to say they were very much an upgrade from what I had. Not sure how many more miles I will get out of it at that age and miles. (already has one new transmission)

But a good note indeed.

Suspension stuff is always a compromise on ride verses handling but the really germain part of this post is Car Quest.

Car Quest is normally the last auto parts store I would think of calling but they recently bought World Pack and they are a real deal supplier of quality European car parts that you can normally get within, at worst, 24 hours. The stuff I have bought from them was actual OEM and they were much cheaper than my local stealership that needs a day or more to get 850 parts. I have a fairly local distribution center with a walk up door and they are really quite good about having stuff on the shelf.
