When the Odometer stops working is my Volvo dead?

Post by I Roll »

The odometer on my "87 245 stopped working at 273,995. I feel like unless I get this fixed, all the bragging rights about how far the car has gone are lost- to me and any future owner. Having a Volvo is all about these miles. How much of a pain is it to fix this? Oh, and the trip gauge is shot too- button broke off several years ago. Is it true that someone actually drove a Volvo 5 million miles? Thanks for your support. I Roll- Oregon

The odometer can be fixed. Have a look at this. The pictures don't seem to be in the right order but can be sorted out quite easily.

That story has been doing the rounds for some time but the highest recorded mileage in the official Volvo High Mileage Club is 2,474,221. That was in the US in a 1966 1800s.
