Changed AFT - Trans thump - Wrong one? Or Low? Or other?

Hi,

I did the drain and refill method on my 2006 V70 2.5T AWD close to two months ago. I used Toyota Type IV fluid.

I am now experiencing what I can only describe as a thud or kick in the back when accelerating from a stop.

- It happens between 1st and 2nd, and 2nd and 3rd, but not at the shift points. It seems to happen in between the actual shifts.
- It is more pronounced (harder) with harder acceleration. Light acceleration doesn't always produce it (or it is too soft to feel).
- It is more pronounced when accelerating uphill or around a corner such as at a left turn.
- It feels more like it is coming from the rear, but I can't confirm this
- The CEL is NOT on.

1) I'm pretty sure that I used the correctt fluid from all the reading I've done, but could someone please confirm it. All the chatter about Aisin-Warner versus the other type has me confused.

2) I read that low ATF level could cause slippage. I've checked it with the engine warm and running, and it seems to be between the high and low marks. It's hard to tell exactly because of the embossed text on the dipstick.

Now, I can't tell you for sure that it is the transmission that is making the thump. I'm just guessing. Perhaps its the suspension or All-wheel-drive.

Same thing happened to me 03/V70T..software reset some say..??? after a second change mine is fine..

12 qts, at 90K mobil 3309..and the toyota is fine as well..same stuff..BTW Volvo does not recommend changing the trans fluid, crazy too me..BUT they will offer a tranny flush,,not advised..
