HI to all volvo fans,im a newbee to this site,and may need coaching and some grace is required please.could any help me please need to now if i can replace my turbo on my volvo 1996 850 automatic which is running a 15g at the moment and replace it with a 16t,will i need to replace injectors or remap ecu etc.thanks guys .from neil down under in newzealand....

Nope, should bolt right up to a '96, flange and all. You won't need to remap unless you want to run more boost out of the 16, but the car itself won't notice.

The ECU and sensors will correct for that to a degree. Once you start running 12+ PSI, it will freak out and cut fuel, but you'll be fine on stock wastegate settings.

thanks for that info youve been a great help. the 16t is gettin rebuilt now.just thought let you no what ive done so far.

ipd transmision bushes
r exhaust manifold
transmision cooler
k&n air filter
platnium spark plugs
removed cat
2 1/2 inch exhaust
stainlis steel braided brake hoses
slotted brake rotors
reverse intercooler
silcon vacuim hoses

goes ok but you no how it works allways after more hp,and in newzealand no one no's mutch about volvo's and parts cost the earth,is there anymore things i can do to me pride and joy that doent cost the earth, tricks n treats that people no of,please advise would be cool.

Once you get everything done to it, you should go for an ECU tune. RICA, IPD, and I'm sure there are more - all offer good tunes for your car to get more power out of that setup.

yes your rite,i tride a flee bay chip worked well for about 4 mounths and the ecu chip lost its memory and the chip couldnt remember boost control and over boosted inevery gear etc,only prob is the cost of a real tuner chip is the bloody freighting.would love 2 have a ipd tune....
