Easy way to check front spring seats?

Post by J_Guynn »

I've got a rattle in the front suspension of my V70 (roughly 82K miles) and I'm trying to determine if it's the spring seats or the sway bar links. Is there an easy way to look for a bad spring seat? I'm assuming this are the original factory pieces.

I did search this site and found some pics of failed seats but didn't see anyway to check already in place seats.

I'll be under the car doing an oil change this weekend so I figure I can check the end links then.

Go inside the hood at the top of the strut try to twist it, if you can twist
it by hand this means that the seat need replacement.
And for the link bar you just have to shake it if you hear a clicking sound
change it.
