what is my engine code for a 2001 T5?

I'm seeing conflicting data when trying to order parts from eeuro and fcpgroton.

B5234T3 or B5234T5 or other?

Thanks. Things started to point that direction for me...just seemed "odd" that a T5 code ends in T3!

Otis...I'm confusing myself again.

So what I got from this info is the T-5 is a 2.3L engine based on this, correct?

I was doing the plugs today and noted 2.4 stamped on the head somewhere and found that interesting or most likely not relavent!

Now I'm quite sure that eeuroparts drop down could be wrong...but would you consider my car (2001 T5) the last option then even knowing it doesn't have the T3 designation after it and it's not an XC or type R

I''m not sure about their drop down menu or why they have the cars listed as they do. For example an "R" model was not available in 2001. If your car is a T5 and is a 2001 model, you have a 2.3l turbo (B5234T3) engine. The only other engines available for the 01 model years would have been the 2.4 n/a (B5244S) and the 2.4T (B5244T3).

The serial number and engine type are printed on a decal on the timing belt cover, and are stamped into the metal on the back side of the engine on the water pump mounting flange...You will need a light and a mirror...
