help... error messages

hi all,

im relatively new to volvos and have just acquired a 1999 volvo s80 with a few niggles...

firstly, the driver info module (where it displays mpg etc) is saying:
ABS system service required
STC system service required
SRS system service urgent
Emissions Control System service required

there are no warning lights on on the dash and the car drives beautiful. can anyone suggest anything to get rid of these messages (without being raped by a dealer)

secondly,
when i start the car first thing in a morning, it idles a bit low and when i apply pressure to the accellerator it wants to (and often does) stall. all ok once engine warm though.

i have just bought service kit comprising spark plugs, air/oil filters and semi synth oil and intend to do a service asap.

If you are getting the brake, check engine, tracs, and other lights then you probably have a bad ABS module.
Does the speedometer drop to 0 sometimes? And does the odometer stop?

hi all,
the speedo and odo are fine, never had a problem with them,although the odo did go dim a couple of days ago, but was fine after re-starting the engine.

so would it be safe to say i should do the solder joints on the abs module?

sounds to me like the cem? i just had similar issues? cost me 1250 from dealer. easy to remove and ship to bbs reman or xemodex to get tested? but i would still take to dealer to get diaged? you got to have vida to check it?
