Noticed this connector hanging down in the front driver's side of my 1997 Volvo 850. I'm
wondering what/where this connector is supposed to be connector to.
Name where the connector goes and what it connects to and WIN!!
Here is a closer look at the connector:
Here is the wiring harness the connector joins:
Thanks

Id say... guessing... its a connector that was pre-wired for driving lights that go in your lower spoiler

Question; anything not working? If everything is OK, then I'd guess it's for a fog light that you don't have?

Well, on my second 850 the wire disappears under the battery somewhere. Since I only have one 850
in service I didn't want to start ripping the other one apart until I get #1 inspected and back service.
My concern is that my car is getting confused with a parts car when I take it in to the indy garage.
After last service found a broken part on my garage floor. Didn't know where it came from. Finally
figured it out and it seemed odd that the unit was not plugged it! Red flags went up immediately.
Everything seems to be running just fine. Only major issue remaining with car is P0172 code [pending] for
too rich in bank 1. Going to clean MAF and look for vacuum leaks. Tomorrow it's off to be inspected.

On my naturally aspired 96 850 this was right in front of the battery the number on the face of the connector was 3545923 ,when reading this upright a black/yellow wire runs out at the back left, black at the back right. Mine has a metal clip on the right, such as they used to use to hang the smaller bosch relays to the sidewall of the old 240's. Yours does not have this and yours has a rusted off piece of metal which sorta blows my theory of it being a remote start terminal. The wire is too short to be headlight wiper. hope that helps

It's nice to see folks are still trying to win the prize.
I thought someone with their 850 apart would be able to find this connector given the
connector and the set of wires it joins.
I'll try to post more information, like wire colors, tomorrow.

Old thread ... the correct answer was posted a couple times - it is a fog light connector. djclinton check the other side, you will find another one, probably still attached to its rusting metal tab.
