wipers won`t shut off intermittent

Hi,all,just bought this `96 850,today,Speedometer stopped@90,077,and,...,I was pulling out the radio to get the unlock code,(it was there.I think),and,the windshield wipers started doing intermittent,does anyone know why,did I hit a switch somewhere??Nice Car By the way, ....Mace... in Sunny Central Fl.

The wiper stalk has four positions:
Intermittent
Off
Slow
Fast
