when reading codesi get no flashes ,just a red light ,any ideas.thanks

hi
i tried to read the codes as per instructions and i get no flashes at all just red light when you pus button,i am getting a triangle warning light on dash when engine running. engine running rough and stalls ,am waiting for new feul pump to arrive. i am going to disconect coolant sensor and see if it improves .i have not had the car long and has had issusse since we purchased, any way still looking at all possibilties thanks lucky phil





cas has 160 k and ran fine till we left for home
we chancged radiator as had leaking oil cooler and had water contamination in transmission, flushed out oil several times ,car ran fine for 3 to 4 km and started having engine missfire and loss of power and has got progresivly worse. changed fuel filter and made no improvement engine has low or no fuel pressure ,missfire started on way home .thanks lucky phil

I had that happen to me once....check to make sure all the fuses that are supposed to be in are in and none are burned out. I had one I pulled out for a dumb reason and the socket it applied to did as you described until I put it back in...works fine now.

hi thanks for that after a while it does your head in ,i will go and check all the fuses,i checked some but only the main ones.hoping its all good when i replace the fuel pump.thanks lucky phil

The switch contacts in the OBD-I reader box can get corroded. The box snaps apart but be aware that a contact and a spring will want to go flying once the box comes apart. If you take it apart slowly you can kinda control things.

Once it is apart clean the contacts and snap it back together.

Once the contacts are cleaned it will usually work.

hi
i just tried all the fuses and found no problems ,untill i went to crank over the engine .now it wont crank ,going backwards here. i have disconected the battery and put in on charge ,will try in morning hopefully its the battery getting low .gremlins running wild here ,i know on some cars if voltage is low they shut down , will ecu reset after being disconected over night back to standard settings ,any one know.thanks lucky phil
