Problem with Electronics, Transmission, Not Sure

I was able to remove the ABS unit by grinding the head off the screw using a dremmel tool but destroyed the unit in the process. Anyone have a cost effective suggestion on where to purchase a rebuilt unit? I'm already looking at eBay, Matty Moo, and Victor Rocha web sites. Also, what a reasonable price is? I've been quoted $185.

Ask a dealer what a "New" one goes for. ( And it will probably fail early...)
$185 doesn't sound too bad, but be sure it's been resoldered/rebuilt.

Help Again,

We just replaced the ABS Module but now the car will not start, It turns over but will not start. Would replacing the ABS Module cause it not to start, because maybe we need to clear codes? If I pump the accelerator pedal vigorestly it tries to start but as soon as I let off the pedal it dies.

The module has nothing to do with the car not starting. I drive all the time with them out, in, not working etc.

Sounds to me like you either unplugged the MAF, or didn't reconnect the air tube at the airbox or turbo. Just speaking from experience as I've done that many times, as recently as last week.

People need to post up when they have problems instead of destroying things. A little patience and the right tools go a long way.

You have to clear the codes to get rid of the light, provided it's not a true transmission problem.

Thank you everybody. The Volvo is repaired minus an emission problem that is unrelated. The advice was completely accurate. The problem with starting the engine was due to two small vacuum lines (I assume that is what they are) that attach to the air cleaner housing and were reversed. After switching them the engine had a rough start but worked fine afterward.
