More driver legroom

Is there an easy way to get a couple of inches more legroom for the driver of a 1999 V70? I got this car for my wife, who has extremely long legs. I can turn a wrench and use a screwdriver, but I am not into cutting and welding. V70, base model , power driver's seat. Leather, 1999.

I'm a tall guy and have long legs and the car works very well for me. Personally, my preference is to sit rather close to the steering wheel, feeling "closer to the road". I have the seat itself scooted up pretty close, but with the front elevator motor all the way up, and the rear one all the way down. This gives a sort of recliner feel, which to me, is very comfortable and allows me to get rather close to the front, without compromising any comfort or having my legs squashed.

I'd really suggest playing around with the seat directions. I find that going on a long drive is the best way to figure out the best seat position. I don't think there are a ton of modifications you could do to physically back the seat any farther than it will already go.

We have been trying different seat positions for a year. V70 + Long legs + big butt = unhappy wife = me in the dog house. Can any of you guys help? And no, she does not read this board!

My EX... wife had a 37" inseem, pretty long legged!
I had trouble fitting her comfortably in Porsches, but a Gen 1 Volvo has a ton of leg room so she should try different seat and steering wheels adjustments.
No, you really can't move the seat back any further without some serious major surgery!

My wife and I tried different seat positions for nearly a year but we finally concluded the bedroom was more comfortable

+1000 at ecbsykes -- I do the same exact thing. I'm 6' 2" and I like to sit close and pulling the front up and the back down is the most comfortable thing. I would try that, it worked for me!

probably one of the oddest complaints/ concerns ive witnessed one here. make sure the wheel is tilted up all the way and that she isnt driving with both feet!

Moving the seat rail farther rearward is major surgury. IIRC there is a mechanical stop in the rail which can be moved rearward abour 1/2 inch.
I have a 36inch inseam and find my right leg resting on the center console with the steering wheel up as high as possible. Depending on your wife's body height, she might want to raise the entire seat a little but keep the sharp incline for thigh support. High heals are not good driving shoes.
Staying as far from the air bag as possible is always reccomended, who cares if you can't reach the radio knob with out bending forward. Stock car drivers sit close to the wheel, but then they only race for about 2 hours and do not have air bags.
