I have a silver s70 and was contemplating tinting the window for various reasons. I live in Massachusetts and the legal limit is 35% all around minus the windshield.
Now I know I can go to any darkness, just I am not wanting to struggle getting an inspection sticker if I go darker than 35%.
Just wanted your thoughts on the matter and any pictures you may have of 35% tint, my interior of my car is also black which might make the tint appear a little darker even though in reality its only 35%.
Thoughts and pictures welcome!
Thanks Guys I appreciate it.
Thoughts on 35% tint.

This is what 35% tint would look like. I would not mess around with tint. A buddy of mine when darker then the legal limit and was pulled over twice. Each time, he had to have the tint removed and go to court to show that the car did not have illegal tint on it. After the second time, he stopped paying to have it put back on.
My van has something called "limo tint" on the windows in the cargo area and rear doors. I don't recall what percentage value it had, but seen from the outside it appears black and almost opaque. You can see very little inside the vehicle which is helpful for camping and hauling valuables. The visibility from inside the van is good. I don't have any photos of it, but just picture a crappy white ford van with what appear to be black windows.
My wagon has pretty dark tint in the back... I'm not sure what the % is (bought used) but it is EXTREMELY hard to back up at night because you simply can't see what your reverse lights are lighting up. I bought a high-wattage reverse bulb and that helps a tiny bit.
It's great for not letting people see in the back but awful for when I'm trying to not back into someone.

You'll be fine with that percentage, I've had 35% installed on almost every car I've owned and have never had one ounce of trouble.
1998 S70 GLT - 183K - full of fun stuff and meticulously maintained!
Heres what I did, I actually went with 28% on the four windows and 20% on the rear. Not to bad, let me know your thoughts.

In Saskatchewan we can put anything on the rear but NOTHING on the front windows. So my tint is 5% on back windows and I love it. Is the 35% limit just for the front windows or the rear as well?
