New 850

Well we just added another 850 to the family. My wife got a 96 GLT wagon just like mine but in green. She noticed that the lights for the AC and REC on the climate control flash for a few seconds when she would start it up, does anyone know what that means if anything? Mine doesn't do it but that probably doesn't mean anything. Thanks!

Sounds like your climate control is trying to tell you (her) something. Check for a fault code?

I will check for codes, there is no check engine light on or anything but I will see what it comes up with.

I finally got to check the codes, nothing came up. I guess we will just have to figure it out. Also, I heard a strange noise like a running motor while I was getting the codes and found that one of the wiper motors for the headlight was running although the wiper wasn't moving. I tried to move the wiper manually and it seemed to have caught and then went on its own twice then stopped. The motor also stopped, I guess it didn't like the wiper position or something. Anyone have this happen?

my 96 turbo wagon had the same thing when the reciever/drier failed - it does indicate a fault in the HVAC system, but if I remember right, there's some trick to pulling down those codes (had a friend at a dealer do it). At this time of year, have you tried the A/C to see how cold?

OK, well it has been pretty cold here at times when I have been around the car so I can't really tell if the AC is working or not. The AC in my car doesn't work but the lights don't flash like hers does.
