High Pitched Squeal noise with 04 s60 T5

Post by volvovera »

When I start the car there is high pitched squeal noise coming from the rear end. The noise does not change when the car is under acceleration and at idle. And the noise is not loud so I can not hear it when I am in the car
Could any one please give me some suggestion on that?

I bought the car from Volvo dealer at 100900 K last week. And the service report indicates that the maintenance has been done at 96000K.

if it is caused by fuel pump whether it is a sign that the fuel pump going bad?
I read some owners' threads which also metioned that they have the similar issue on their cars for years.
Or may I say it is quite normal for some volvo models?

A fuel pump should not be noisy; however, it seems that some are and they operate just fine for many years. You need to get the car up in the air and determine where the noise is coming from.
