phone: strange numbers instead of actual numbers

My corporate-issued Blackberry is paired with my Volvo phone, but I can't figure out the following:
1. Why does the Volvo console usually list the same really long, meaningless number for all received calls, missed calls, and dialed calls, but on rare occasions it lists the correct numbers?
2. How do I dial using voice commands?
3. How do I dial using speed dial numbers?
The methods I've found for entering numbers and manually searching the phone book via the Volvo's phone menus and keypad take a lot more hands-on time than just using my phone manually, which is illegal while driving and defeats the purpose of an interface to the car.... Any clues or references to other websites that explain how the Volvo phone interface works would be most appreciated.
