I just moved to Baltimore MD and I am looking for a mechanic for my 2001 S40. Any suggestions of good shops/folks? Thanks

Autobahn on York Road is famous in Baltimore. Baltimore is a real Volvo town and Autobahn is very popular. So popular that you have to make an appointment weeks in advance to get your car in there.

Caton Auto Clinic, on US 40 in Catonsville, isn't a Volvo specialist, but they do everything from engine, to transmission, to bodywork. They do good work and they're honest, which is something to look for. They once got a tune up kit for my old Toyota as a warranty claim against their supplier because its worn rings killed the plugs in a couple of months. They didn't have to, since they didn't charge me for them either, they just did because they could save me some money. I've also never stumped them with a weird Volvo problem. If you've got a problem nobody can seem to find, go to Autobahn, but if it's just something that you don't feel like messing with, give Caton's a call.
