I have gone through 2 sets of tires in the past year due to vibration.
Have a 2003 Volvo S80 (non-turbo)
Have had the following repaired/replaced -Lower control arms and bushings; front end struts, sway bar, brake rotor, pads, and it still vibrates when driving 70MPH or greater.

Did it wear out two sets or did you change them to try to fix the problem but wear pattern and rate for tires was OK?
Is the vibration like what is felt when a tire is imbalanced or is it higher frequency (faster)?
Have the inner and outer tie rods been checked for wear?
How many miles on the car?
Have they checked the wheels for run-out?

THe struts and sway bar were replaced right after the first set of tires were replaced. November 2010 - Fron Nov till now the front tires wore down substantially had substantial vibration. I had it checked last Saturday - that's when I had the bushings, brakes, rotors and control arms replaced. Stil if i go over 75 MPH, it vibrates on rough roads
Car has 157,000 miles; I do not think the inner and outer tie rods or the wheels were checked. Thanks for your reply

Be aware that your rotors maybe warped. It happened to me after replacing all the front end parts.

I also have the same type of problem, except my car only vibrates when i brake from high speeds (80mph+) as opposed to all the time at high speeds. could that also be because of warped rotors or something else?

I would spend money on the rotors first. I replace just about every front suspension part but it was the rotors that fixed my vibration.

how much do you think it would cost to replace the rotors. and do you have to replace all 4?

Only the front two. If you do the job yourself, it's not expensive. I got a set for less than $60. I used to have $200 set but the car rides better with the cheap rotors. I figure I can go thru three sets before I spend the money on one set!
