new s80 owner transmission?

I just bought a 2000 S80 2.9 for my girlfriend with 124000 miles. I have 9 hours to return the car If it has the transmission problems. I am not sure if it is a 5 speed or 6 speed automatic. It shifts great through 5 gears. it runs 2000 rpm at 60 mph. I'm just wondering if there is the sixth gear overdrive that it is not going into. any information would be greatly appreciated

it is a 4 speed with a locking torque converter. Normally from stop you will feel 1-2 change, 2-3 change, 3-4 change, and then the locking of TC feels like the shift to another gear.
There are times you may feel TC lock in 3rd too and that would give you the feel of an additional "gear".
2000 @ 60 sounds right for 2.9.
