1997 960 wagon removal of climate control face plate

Post by Sarajmt »

Hi! I have a new climate control unit that my husband wants to put in. However, getting the face plate off without damaging the snaps is a problem. Does anyone know how to remove the Climate Control face plate? You know, the wood grain looking front. Any help would be appreciated. 1997 960 wagon

The attached contains the removal/replace instructions. Some of it will not apply to the job you are doing so don't panic when you see how long it is. The weather strip tool mentioned can be bought at most car parts stores or you can make your own out of a piece of firm, not too thick plastic. I am forever losing mine so I make my own.

Wow! That was fast. I've downloaded the PDF and passed it on to my husband. Thank you so much! I'll let you know how he does with this.

Nice car you have. I have wanted one but have had no luck finding a suitable example. I have the sedan. And love it, just need more room for my wheelchair and gear.
