I have searched around for what I thought might bring up topics on this and did not get exactly what I was looking for. I may be searching for the wrong thing though.
This is my second Volvo. I got the car in December from a family friend with it in apparent good condition with about 155,00 miles on it. The car had a tune up done by a family trusted mechanic for over 20 years and had minor repairs and replacements done. New plugs, engine mounts, tires etc. When I got the car I had at first stuttering which turned out to be coils which have since been replaced with IPD's set. I also had upon start the headlights (and center console lights and tail lights) flicker repeatedly with the sound the blinker makes at the same pace. This would happen briefly and stop. Worst part of this is I cannot shift out of park when it is like this.
Now this happens every time I start the car and in the morning when it is cool it will takes sometimes up to 8 minutes for it to start flickering so I cannot even drive. I turn my parking lights on which do not flicker and turn the headlights off so it doesn't look like a crazy person driving down the road. Oddly enough it doesn't happen much later in the day if I've been driving it or if it is warmer out. Keep in mind, I live in SW Florida so by cool I mean 50's.
Any ideas?

Your car needs a new electrical portion of the ignition switch. It's a simple, 15-min do-it-yourselfer; all you need is a Torx screwdriver.

Is this the $15 switch you can buy of IPD's website?
