Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
HELP needed in Toronto! I pulled my injectors out (while trying to remove intake manifold) and noticed that the little soft plastic ring on the end of the injector (not the rubber o-ring) were cracked and not in good shape...one fell apart. They are some kind of seal in addition to the o-ring.
Anyone know where I can find some good used injectors in Toronto on Sunday or Monday morning or at the the plastic seal thing?
Anyone know of a workaround or fix so I can get the car running safely again?
more blurry pics to come. It's the reddish coloured flattish ring on the end of the injector that goes into the manifold.
I would really like to get the car working again by end of Monday so would really appreciate help from anyone. Please feel free to call me at 416-722-9793 if you have any suggestions/solutions/fixes or send me your number and I can give you a call.
Call a Volvo dealer or indie mechanic in your area and find out if they have/how much $ the seal is. I've found many items like small seals and rings in my local dealer's inventory are just one or two dollars, and in stock.
Also, chatting with the dealer's parts guys has never been wasted time for me. I find them to be extremely helpful.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
Thanks. I made it to a dealer with one of the injectors yesterday and they said I could not buy that piece on the end of the injector. The diagrams don't show it either but he cautioned that the pic is only representative of one 850 type and there are a few. I could buy the black rubber o-ring but not that coloured piece (goes into the manifold). He said I'd probably have to buy new injectors at CDN$200 each!
My injector part number from the injector itself is: 0280 155 759
The parts guy said the new Volvo part number from the system is 9454 556
