1994 850 engine swap

Is it possible to remove the engine with out taking out the transmission and disconnecting the drive axles? I have a1996 the blew the motor and I have a 1994 that I would like to swap if I cannot get the transmission working. Has anyone tried this with success?

I bet you could do it but it would be a hell of a lot more work. I would just pull the motor with the transmission.

Okay, thanks for the help. I am still crossing fingers that the transmission is fixable. I have found out that the drive shaft on drivers side is loose. I have been getting great feedback and help in diagnosing the real issue. I hope to have that figured out by the weekend. Would you know what I could expect as a hour time frame for pulling engine and transmission from vehicle? I have done rear wheel drive cars before but nothing that is front wheel with transaxle.
