need suggestion on fuel system treatment

Post by volvovera »

Does some one has experience to use fuel system treatment/cleaner?
which brands are better?
Whether it is OK to use fuel system cleaner, like Lucas or Motul, on Turbo cars?
Thanks in advance!

Volvo recommends the use of gasoline containing deposit control additives. Volvo does not recommend the use of external fuel injector cleaning systems

Once a fuel system is dirty whether it's from using lower quality fuel or from a previous owner's neglect it's a lot cheaper to clean them (injectors) than it is to replace them.

if you have a high mileage car then use seafoam. 1/2 can in the oil and the other 1/2 in the fuel tank.

Thanks for all your suggestions!
My car has 102,000 kilometers and for about 1 month ago I has started to notice a whistle noise coming from fuel pump.
I have read many threads which metion the similar noise was just gone after they used fuel system treatment/cleaner.
So I wonder whether I can give it a try before I consider the fuel pump replacement.
