Fresh Air Comes Into Cabin w Recircultion On

Post by betawave »

Hi,

Anyone have any tips on how to fix a problem with outside air coming into the cabin even with the recirculation button on?

I pressed the recirculation button and it lights up, I even hear the flap moving but when the car is being driven I still feel air coming in. When its cold outside you can really feel the draft.

I think something is either stuck or not closing all the way. Its not a gush of air just as if the int. blower was on level one.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I drive a 96 850 N/A

If you look just beside the left center air vent there is a dial for the airmix. Roll the dial up to cut off most of the air flow, but it will never close fully. Always has just a small amount of air coming in for me, but not enough to effect the temp in the car. The airmix is there for on a stormy day when you need your defrost but not so much the heater. Keeps your buns from cooking to much ;)

Thanks!

There are alot of air vent switches in this car! Yes I adjusted the air-mix tho I still feel somethings isnt quite completely closed and that drives me a little nutty in the now cold winter when Im still feeling cold draft.

If anyone has done any sort of repairs to the air distribution system in the cabin of this car please share any and all methods you took to fix any odd airflow issues....

We would appreciate your guidance!
