90 740 non turbo wont start

90 740 non turbo wont start unless i unhook the map sensor. checked and found no fault code. with map unhooked car goes into limp mode. is this covering something else or just a bad sensor?

Certainly sounds to me like a bad sensor - any way to test it with a known good one? I'm tempted to say just go ahead and replace it, since, from what I read, your strategy seems to be a common diagnostic check for just such a problem.
