removing my 850 dash ? tutorial?

Post by billy »

I guess I'm losing it. A while back I thought I saw a tutorial with photos and details on how to remove the upper dash piece on 850? I can't find it now? Anybody know where she be?

thanks you, that's what I needed, I know their are a couple 2 or3 more fasteners on the passenger side, but I have reasonable odds of getting them solved..thanks again

Here is a very detailed writeup on dash removal for the 850/S70/V70.

It is a pretty straightforward job. I was able to do it with no instructions.
Just make sure you unplug everything slowly, take your time and be neat.

Thank you all, got'er done...went smoother than I thought. Mine had cracked, bubbled and warped...got it out...found a good used one at a yard..removed it...pulled the cluster out..changed all the illumination bulbs for new ones..installed it, now I'm good to go. Clip brackets on instrument cluster were broken, so I stuffed a shop towel behind it to keep it from rattling.

Good to hear man, its not that bad of a job.

I did exactly the same. My 93' dash was nasty, cracked and warped, the vinyl was peeling in the corners and the glovebox was also siezed. I found a clean 97' 850 with an identical mint condition interior and pulled the dash from there. What a world of difference it has made, definately worth it.
