1999 V70XC abs discontect

Post by tjg »

Think I'm having a intermittent abs problem, get a wobble around 30 to 40 mph and rumble when turning corners. Is it possible to discontect the abs ( as simple as removing the fuse from main box) and still have the brakes work, so I can tell if this is the problem. Thanks

Yes. The brake will function without ABS if the unit is powered down or disconnected. Be prepared for several ABS, traction control, stability control codes to be set. Make sure your machine can erase them

Wobble and rumble?
Your propshaft has gone bad, not your ABS

JRL by wobble I feel the car shake side to side between 30 to 40 mph and grinding noise at the front end when making turns at corners. Replaced the propshaft last summer(colorado drive shaft).

It does sound like classic drive shaft trouble.
You might take a little time and pull the shaft
to see if the problem goes away. Cheap test.

You can pull the fuse if you want, but I'm 99.9999% sure it has nothing to do with any of the issues you speak of.

Can't on a 99, the car won't run.
(98s and earlier are different)

Had the same noise on my 1998 v70 and my 2000 v70...took out the propeller shaft, goes from front of car to back to power the AWD....called Colorado driveshaft and they sent mt 2 remanufactured ones for 1140, they will pay return shipping, and return a core charge of 75.00 for each shaft...great guy's to do business with...get hold of Dave...he set me right up.
