Turn Signals Dont Work?

Post by Ramin182 »

My turn signals do not work. My emergency lights work, but when i turn the turn signal handle nothing happens. What can I do to fix the turning signals?

If your hazards are working it could only be the turn selector switch located on your steering wheel. Thats were I'd start...

Other posibility is the hazard switch. The turn signal wires comes from the turn selector switch and and goes to hazard switch. Sometimes the hazard switch makes bad contact with the plug. Could be the same problem with the turn selector switch - bad contact with the plug.
Clean and check all elektrical conections.
Your fuses are OK, don't loose time to check them.
GOOD LUCK

How do you determine if it is the selector switch. My signals worked one day, then I noticed the weren't working, next thing I knew they were working again. They have again, quit working. Suggestions?

If the dash indicator comes on, but doesn't blink, you have a bulb not working. If the indicator and exterior bulbs illuminate, but don't flash, the blinker unit is kaput.
Check bulb connections in their sockets and the socket's bayonet connections to the lamp assembly.
After all that and you still have nothing, look toward the stalk assy.

I have similar problem in my V40 T5 wipers. When I switch on the wipers, nothing happen. I had changed wiper motor and wiper control stick, but still fail. Finally, I changed CEM (Central Electronic Module), every resume normal. You can locate this module down in the steering. Just move out 6 screws and replace it, easy. Hope this information can help.
