Have you ever been tailgated?

Post by billofdurham »

The ultimate in tailgating.

As requested, a British Royal Air Force pilot approaches the rear door of a C130 for a photo shoot. He radios, "How much closer do you want me?

Nice! Good thing he didn't brake check him ;)

I had a college student in a Suburban about that close to me the other day.

It's so much fun just to trap them in next to slow-moving cars and then ever-so-slightly tap the brakes and watch them go swerving all over the road.

Yeah, I'm a jerk, but only to deserving people

If you ever find yourself stuck behind a school bus full of 6th graders +/- wave a clinched fist at them.
They will show you every indication that they want to rip you to shreds. Like an angry mob. Funny as hell.

If I had a Jet tailgating me that close I'd ease over to the shoulder and let me tires throw up some gravel and debris from shoulder onto his canopy. Those damn jet jockeys are always tailgating!!!!!

PS, I do use that method for tailgaters. I am not in the left lane for entertainment. If I could get by the car in front of me I'd be out of your way and yielding to you by moving right. Your following me too closely has no bearing on you getting by any faster but it may have some bearing on you having rock chips in your paint or worse.

FWD: Gas to the floor, handbrake to the roof. Cloud of smoke stops all tailgaters. Better try it off road a few times first though! Another one is wait for a genuine opportunity to brake, then about 2secs after initial application, stab brakes hard for teeny bit and release. Brake lights alone do nothing to the seasoned tailgaiter, but this one works good.

Pre-select the rear fogs then turn the main lighting switch from auto to full on, the back of the car lighting up with additional bright red lights is often more than enough and avoids touching the brakes, I often hit the accelerator pedal at the same time as putting the rear fogs on - Mike

The C130 doesn't have rear fogs and if the driver slams the brakes on when his wheels aren't on the ground nothing happens.
