It all depends on knowing. If your cylinder lock is getting hard to turn, it is most likely simply wearing out. To replace:
1. You must have the key
2. You have to push a small button in right up against the metal dash on the side of the key switch. The size of the keyswitch narrows in the area of the slip-in cylinder lock. This button is on the BACK side of the keyswitch.
3. Pushing in the button is a PAIN to do since it is hard to see AND hard to get to, but it is exactly horizontal on the switch on the drivers' side of the switch. It is easy to push in ONLY if the key is inserted.
4. Push the button in while pulling the keylock directly out. Don't turn the key. Pushing in the button locks the key in place and you can easily pull the key out of the cylinder. It slips out easily.
Get a replacement and put it in for the final fix. Can be had at Swedishtreasures.com. May be available from other sources.
