http://www.switchdoctor.com makes great replacement master swtiches if you're unable to clean up the contacts to a point where it works consistently. Mine were fused together for one of my windows

Hey Lads I just wanted to give a big tip of the hat to this forum answer.
I had exactly the same problem start yesterday with my RR window refusing to go up.
Read through all of the answers and ran downstairs to try the 'wiggle the switch' cure on the RR master switch ten minutes ago.
Worked like a charm!!!
Window is up and functional.
Brilliant!
Thank you all very much.
kind regards,
James

Could you explain EXACTLY what you did on the MASTER Switch?

my 98 xc70 had two non-functioning windows and all I did was take both index fingers and as rapidly as I could, operated the window switches from up to down position. My LR worked after I did this at master. The RF required I also do that to the RF door switch. All have worked for a few months since that was done.

Thanks everyone for the tricks. It works (kind of LOL).
After a few quick on-off pulling on the master switch, the RR single switch works just fine.
The MASTER's RR switch is another story.
- DOWN: no worky
- UP: it works.
So the problem is in the Master's RR switch.

OK,
UPDATE: re Pass Rear Window Regulator.
You guys were absolutely correct. The Driver Master Switch controls everything.
The culprit was the RR switch within the Master Switch. After a few quick rapid movements as suggested, the problem was 50% solved LOL!!!
- UPWARD now OK
- DOWNWARD does not work.
Then the next fix was simple.
1. Removed the MASTER Switch: Search forum for the proper way.
I did it the quick way: wrap some towel at the tip of a "Pick Tool" and hook it in the area immediately behind the rear switches.
Then pull it straight up.
Alternatively, you could use some dental floss to pull it too.
2. Then disconnect the Grey connector to the REAR switches.
Turn the switch upside down, then spray some WD-40 into the tiny holes under the switches.
Then turn the switch upright and spray some WD-40 into the area below the RR switch.
Let it sit for a couple minutes so the WD-40 can work out the corrosion.
Then operate the switch rapidly a few times.
Eventually it will work.
It was a 15 min fix, all is well now, THANKS ALL!!!
