Denver Volvo Meet n Drive: This Sunday March 20

Post by matthew1 »

This Sunday
Chris Goldsmith (04 C70C, 01 V70 T-5 M and 122 Sport) has come up with a drive for the Volvo geeks who have 'ants in your pants' or are thinking 'I hate winter because there's no volvo drives' or 'I'm gonna put some hurtin on some curves with my slammed volvo' blues!

I'll be there with free MVS T-shirts for participants.

Sunday March 20, 10 AM at the Morrison Conoco. We'll take a casual 1 hour drive through some twisty roads while trying to dodge bicyclists, and we'll end up in Evergreen where we'll have either an early lunch or a regular lunch with a lot of waiting (depending on how busy they are) at the Beau Jo's pizza there.

Boy, that was fun. I saw Brett, Quinn and Chris, all from Volvo Specialists, and met a whole bunch of guys I didn't know before: Berger from Norway, Ryan with a V70 R that looks very similar to mine, and Scott who bought his wife a beautiful red '07 S60 R.

Apologies to the others I met and I don't recall your names!

I gave out about 10 shirts at the meet n greet, then we took off like banshees and drove the Colorado twisties for a couple hours. We stopped across from Tiny Town at one point, a kids' funpark where my grandfather took me in the 1970s when I was a tot. Good memories.

I'll have proper writeup in about an hour with pix and videos.

Oh, anyone following this who was there: I left early (and after I made a wrong turn  ).
