2000 V70XC misses at 3300 rpm

I have had my 2000 V70XC for 6 years. I have cleaned the ETM / replaced torn inter cooler hose / replaced front struts / replaced ABS Module. Replaced radiator & overflow. The other day (Friday) car stalled on my wife on her way to work coming out of 7-11. It stalled three times in a matter of a few feet. She called me as I leave for work a half hour after her so I came to get her. Car was running so we switched cars and I drove it home. She called into work and stayed home and I went on to work. That night I found the plastic inter cooler tubing that connects to the ETM had come off. I reattached it as I had done a year ago when I cleaned the ETM. When I test drove the car it lacked power and didn't sound quite right. The next morning we had to go to Brooklyn. We stopped at the bank first and the car stalled pulling into the drive up window. It stalled again at the stop sign pulling out of the bank and once more as we pulled up to a red light. We turned around and drove the car home. I checked the coils and found four of them cracked. I replaced them all. The fifth one was replaced last summer. In park after allowing the engine to warm up the engine misses at 3300 rpm or higher. It feels -sounds like the timing is not advancing. When the fan turns on nothing happens but when it turns off the engine bogs down for a second and then recovers.

Are you getting any fault codes? I would think you would get one if the engine is stalling out. Probably would lead you to your problem.
Have you checked your air filter and the duct work for your air intake.
Also check for vacuum leaks.

I checked the air intake and inter cooler hoses, I checked vacuum lines, I brought it to the AAMCO dealer that services our company fleet today. As of 4:30 this afternoon they have no answer for me. They didn't mention any codes found, I just assumed they would have said something if they had. I will ask directly in the morning. A friend suggested checking the crank position sensor and the cam sensor.

I soke to AAMCO this morning. They are getting a P1238 code. They smoke tested intake hoses and say they checked all vacuum hoses but can't find anything wrong but car still breaks up over 3300 rpm. I'm picking the car up tonight. I replaced the turbo control last september from IPD when I cleaned the TCM.

When you replaced the coil packs, did you replace the plugs or take a look at them?

I googled that code and from what I read it sounds like the MAF, Mass air flow sensor

When I changed out the coils I inspected the plugs but did not replace them. One plug (2nd from the right under the intercooler tube) was obviousely cross threaded. When I tried to remove it, it actualy started to get tighter so I snugged it back in. I got the car back from AAMCO after they had it for two days and couldn't find the problem either. I read the blog on cleaning the MAF sensor so I tried that last night. While I was at it I cleaned the sensor in the intercooler tube that attaches to the ETM. Bingo sputter is gone. Thank you all for such great information. Next up PCV cleaning.
