R look on a S70 Turbo non R model

Post by Alanj »

Hello everybody,
A long time I didn't come here.
I would like to have your opinion about the alloy wheels R on a S70 Turbo.
I want to put these 17' Image

What do you think of this upgrade in term of comfort and handling of the car based on the fact that I have currently 15' alloy wheels.

That wheel is called the Comet and is standard equipment on the S70R. Going to that wheel from a 15", you'll definitely have a rougher ride, especially if you keep the proper tire pressure for 17" wheels in there, but it should help a bit with handling.

I went from the 16" on my 96 turbo wagon to the 17" anthricite C70 wheels & it made a huge difference in the handling - much more responsive due in no small part to the lower profile tires (& the dark blue paint with the grey wheels looked cool too)...but the ride quality will definately suffer somewhat & if you have any issues at all with interior rattles, they WILL become bigger....I transfered those wheels on to my current 01 xc70 and it's helped that car go around the corners better as well - buy 'em if they're straight (& not hot).
