ABS STC unit

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

ABS STC unit

Post by ovidiu84_usa »

Hello,

I have a problem with my ABS/STC unit from my 2001 volvo s80, 2.9 Liter. I know the abs unit is gone and some sites can rebuild it for almost $600.00 much bettar than spending 1,900.00 at the dealership. I found and Abs/STC unit for sale on ebay but the serial number that i have it is not the same. My question is this: if i find an ABS/STC unit for sale on ebay same year same model and everything does the serial number has to be the same.?!!! I say no but you guys might know more than me.

The unit that i have it has the ABS?STC on it and if it was just the abs i could have fix it for $150.00 but since it has the STC also its around $600.00 BUT...i found one on ebay for 300.00 pretty much same thing that i have.

Please let me know what you guys think.

Thank you so much

Unless it's new, $300 is way too much money. If somebody wants $600 to rebuild it, you're getting ripped off 6x over, STC or no STC the module is the same.

The unit in your car is likely an 8619538. The s80's only like the same number that was in there, I'm not sure why that is.

I usually avoid that particular unit, but I do have one here. I'll send you a message.

I dont even know what to do. I have a good mechanic that can help me to take things out, put them back in together..pretty much anything. But my question is WHAT IF IS NOT THE ABS and its something else. Today i'm going to a couple of mechanics to get my 2001 volvo a full scan and see what codes come up. Eitherway let me have you cell phone so we can talk about the abs unit. Or you can message me on private. Whatever you prefer. Thank you for your reply!!!!!!!!!!!!

To Matty Moo,
It says in the top 'window' of the page which goes to the link you provided in your message that you don't support S80.

Is that an old/out of date statement or ???
