I'm sitting here studying tonight (I know, a very exciting Saturday night!) and slowly working my way through a few Killian's Irish reds still in the fridge.
I am a huge fan of a Long Island iced tea - made right. I have had some that are absolutely disgusting. Rum and Coke is also quite tasty.
As for beer, I stick to the lighter-colored stuff. Moosehead, Sam Adams (the Octoberfest is by far the best they make), Landshark, Yuengling, Dos Equis, and Coronas are among my favorite. I don't know if any of you have ever heard of Red Oak, but it's some of the best I've had. They make it in Greensboro, NC or somewhere in-between, and only recently started to bottle it, but it's very good stuff.

When I drink liquor, it's Vodka or Gin. Not very often, but when I do I drink a lot of it. When we go camping in the summer I'll figure on a fifth for one day. I'll start the morning with some Bloody Marys, and then switch it up to lemonade and vodka in the afternoon. Or just go gin and tonic all day. Usually I get Skye or Platinum. I gave up on Absolut as I didn't want to pay for their marketing-the stuff isn't that great for the price. Cherry Vodka with OJ is pretty good too.
Beer-depends. If I'm sipping I'll get something good, Usually something local. If I'm piddling around the house or in the garage I'll get some Miller Lite. In Michigan we have Bell's, which is pretty damn tasty.
40's. I love them. In college they were $1 and we drank tons of them, and for some reason I still like them. You have to keep them in the bag though or else they'll get warm. Usually Colt 45, King Cobra or Magnum. The first sip is horrible, but after that it's great. I've been told I need to grow up, but I'm approaching 40 and figure it's too late for that, I'll just keep doing my own thing and get a 40 occasionally.
Four-Loko. I tried the stuff last year and was on a very brief kick with it. I bought two cases of it the day before they banned it, and drank 3 in one sitting. That stuff is evil, it's an entirely different type of buzz-the kind I don't care for. I've since given the rest away.

I'm partial to Mexican... well, anything tastebud related. Food, beer and tequila. Even mezcal. I swallowed one of those worms down at the bottom once.
Red wine I can't drink or enjoy any more. I don't know what happened. White I can do.
American macro and micro beers I like. I got burned out on microbrews for a good long while, but they're ok again. I like Japanese and Chinese beers also.

You need to come over to the Lake of the Ozarks and hit Big Dicks Halfway Inn to do a minnow shot. While I have never done one they ring the bell and cheer and the minnows are only an additional buck over the basic shot price. Both of my kids have gone through the rite of passage and then bought the T-shirt to prove it.matthew1 wrote:I'm partial to Mexican... well, anything tastebud related. Food, beer and tequila. They do around 1.2 million a year in T-shirt sales alone.

It is one cove over from my cabin.
I prefer Smirnoff and OJ in the morning and Johnny Walker Red with club soda in the afternoon myself. On a real hot day at the lake you can float around for a while off of the dock with a Gibley's and tonic.
We shall see if the youtube video worked correctly, I have never tried this before.

Senor_Turkey, you have an excellent taste in Scotch. I'm partial to the Balvenie as well, the 15-year and the 21-year Portwood in particular. The boss sprang for a few glasses of the portwood once, and since it was Stanza dei Cigari in Boston, sprang for slightly more expensive cigars per their policy. Once, on my wedding night, while my wife downed Boston Cream Pie martinis, I got a glass of 30-year Highland Park... damn was that good stuff!
I'll go for Sam Light when I want to screw up an automobile (with a wrench!) and Budweiser when I'm pissed about work.
I like a good wine with a meal, Oyster Bay sauvignon blanc is a favorite with fish, or a Bordeaux with appetizers, or a shiraz with red meat. Kendall Jackson chardonnay goes well with anything. Once in awhile I overspend on it.
All that said, I can honestly say I faithfully limit myself to one glass if I'm driving within an hour, two glasses if I'm driving within two, and absolutely no more if I'm driving that night. I don't even like walking around when I'm hammered, nevermind trying to keep an automobile straight to the limits of its front-end condition.
