Re: fuel smell... after fill up.

After I replaced the fuel pump in my '96 850, I had a gas smell when I filled up. I took the pump back out and discovered that I had not gotten the rubber seal properly in place around the top of the tank. There is a small lip that goes over the outside edge of the tank neck. I worked with it for about 15 minutes before I got it right and put the pump back in place. Since then, no more gas smell. Just passing this on, because it is easier to get to than dropping the tank.

Sure but these leaks are almost always the hoses. Its good advice for replacing the F-pump.
Life would be enjoyable if it wasn't so painful to live.
