Rough idle and then dies

Post by rons850 »

I have frequently gone tostart my 95-850 na and it would act as if the battery was dead. I would jump it off and it was fine. Since my door lock key ring battery went dead it has not done it for about a month, I thought this might had been the problem. I parked it Fri after work and started it fine Sun about 2. Went out this morning it started and went dead then would not start back and the bateery was dead after attempting to start a few more times. I came home this evening and charged it for an hour and it kind of wizzed over alot longer than usual b4 starting. I let the car set there for 20 mins and backed out of the driveway and gave it some gas and it went dead and as I tried to start it it would almost get to the point to start up but never did. I think it may be a fuel pump or bad gas any suggestions are apperciated. TKS

Sure sounds like when the fuel pump died in my old 244 (both times!!!), except for the part about getting it to jump-start.

First thing I would do is get a new battery or have it checked to make sure it isn't bad.
A bad battery can cause all sorts of weird things to happen.
I would also check for codes. If there is a problem your computer should register the fault.

Well I replaced the fuel filter b4 looking here and ended up tearing the quick release lines to the filter, so I put some more fuel line on it and used hose clamps. Problem solved
