buying a part car, how can i register it?

Hi guys,
Im thinking to buy a 98 V70 for cheap, its still running but has a long list of problems. The tag currently expired, not in driving condition, failed smog. I need at least 3 months to get it run again (h

pefully) I just wanna know how should i do the registeration at DMV? Can i register as non operation vehicle then reregister after it has been fixed and smoged or if there is any other easier way to do it?

If you plan to do all the work yourself, just title it. Fix everything then register it. If you do not register it you don't have to insure it. Of course you can't drive it either. I've done this with my sons' cars before they got their licenses so we could take the time to fix them up and teach them some things about repair and maintenance.

That sounds good thx for info.! So the the seller just only need to sign release the tile and I smog and register after all the works done?

You regiter it when it's ready to run and pass smog
