Looking for part name and/ or number

Post by elchopperfreak »

My wifes car was recently on an accident, the front plastic part on the dash that holds the security system light broke in pieces.
I need the name and or number of the part so we can find and order one.
Is it the actual plastic dash? What is it called?
Heres a diagram, its the part with red x's marked

Image

Is it a complete part?
I thank you in advance for your help

The car is a 1999 s-70 T5

I looked it up on VADIS. It appears to be part of the entire dashboard. In other words, the top, is a separate part, and the under part is another part. The part number for the part you want is 9420907 for a beige interior, replacing older part number 94276999. That part is fragile. I have to replace one on our '97 850R.

I need to replace this in my '98 as well.

From the outside looking in it appears that the VIN plate is just held in with some sort of pop rivet, is this correct?

We had our dash out in the '97 850R, and I believe that is correct.

I think your referring to the plastic black piece which appears to be running just below the windshield and sometimes contains the flashing security light. This is actually part of the whole dash and is not sold as a separate piece. You can unscrew it by removing the cover outside the car right under the windshield wiper stalks as well as a few other screws inside the car.

The dash pad is a separate piece and contains the passenger air bag.

Quite often these develop cracks on the front and can squeak if the support bolt brackets which are plastic break.

i do not think your going to want to buy a new one at $$$$$$$. You should just buy a used dash. Most of the parts which are the wood inserts can be removed from your old one and installed. If there are cracks in it but still supports the dash your better off trying to repair it or glue it together.

Are you just trying to keep your volvo going or are you trying to build a showcar? Im sure there are not too many Volvo;s in Puerto Rico

You would be amazed of ther very large amount of Volvos on the road here, among Mercedes, BMW's, Jags,Audis, Porsche etc and all the Japan imports..
What is hard to find are junked Volvos.
I just want to replace the dash as it was, I dont think it can be glued back.
This particular T5 has a bit less than 50 thousand miles in it, and look and feels like new.. My 93 850 has 95 k miles , my dad has a full on IPD built 740 turbo stick shift..
